Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen — What Changed?

Separate Norgan, Lost Rites and relic appraisal from free game updates, and check what the collected material confirms about vocations.

Quick Answer

Dark Arisen adds Norgan, its story and relic loop, plus Lost Rites challenges. Save and skill-slot changes also appear in the base game’s update history; do not assume every improvement requires buying the expansion.

Which additions belong to the expansion?

AdditionOfficial overview
NorganA northern region and story involving Eir and the Fallen Dragon.
Relic expeditionsFinds appraised into weapons and armor.
Lost RitesTwelve additional dungeon challenges.
Character optionsAdditional hairstyles and tattoos.

The official store screenshots below show the hairstyle and tattoo customization interfaces. They illustrate the cosmetic options mentioned above; they do not document unlock requirements.

What changed in the base game?

The official snapshot describes three save slots per Arisen and separate Autosave, Interim Save and Last Inn Rest Save records. It documents vocation balancing and quality-of-life changes. The expansion overview described an increase from four to six weapon skill slots in a free update.

Check the installed menus and official update page for your precise version. A collected snapshot is not a guarantee that no later patch has changed behavior.

Are there new vocations?

The keyword file mixes discussions with a skill-unlock transcript. New weapon skills are not new vocations. That evidence does not justify inventing a class roster. Skill names, unlock steps and patch-specific behavior need separate verification before a complete unlock guide is added.

Is this the older Dark Arisen?

This site concerns Dragon’s Dogma 2. Use the edition guide to separate the products. The review guide explains the same distinction for scores.
